SF Transgender Empowerment Advocacy Mentorship Program (SF TEAM) a program of San Francisco Community Health Center launched a series of digital stories of seven transgender individuals from San Francisco. They embarked on a 3-day workshop and created their own digital stories. Each participant provides a testament to their individual trans experiences around safety, wellness and violence.
Launching this series, is a story by Jasmarie. An African American trans woman who has struggled in many facets of life. Jasmine’s message in her story is a good reminder to everyone, that even though our lives are faced with struggles, challenges and how we are likely to be at risk for violence and all the negativity thrown to us, that we need to learn to love ourselves and get a sense of our own strength as human. When all fails, look deep within, we have the power to take charge of our own life.
Jasmarie’s digital story was produced by herself thru the Digital Story Center. All photos, music and videos has been cleared for usage.
