Since 1987, our organization has stood at the frontlines in the fight against HIV/AIDS in the API community. In 2005, we commemorated this ongoing fight by establishing the National API HIV/AIDS Awareness Day on May 19th. Fourteen years later, we continue to celebrate our community and raise awareness of the prevalence of HIV/AIDS within the API community but also to ensure that there is a representation of APIs within HIV/AIDS-related research and policy.
