Project CIRCUIT
Project CIRCUIT (Community-Inspired Research and Change for Ultimate Impact in the Tenderloin) is a comprehensive community needs assessment on the medical, behavioral, and subsistence needs of individuals experiencing homelessness in the Tenderloin District. Project CIRCUIT uses a community-based participatory research (CBPR) approach to help identify actionable, culturally tailored strategies to address the healthcare crisis facing the Tenderloin Neighborhood.
This dynamic project is coordinated and led by SFCHC expert staff, and a team of experienced research associates hired to implement the survey instrument within the Tenderloin. An SFCHC consumer advisory panel is regularly engaged for critical input to help ensure that CIRCUIT adheres to the tenets of CBPR as an equitable approach that involves community and consumer collaborators. CIRCUIT research findings will inform out-of-the-box service models, enable community members to contribute meaningfully to local solutions, and surface community-informed recommendations to drive our advocacy efforts for long-term impact.
