Michelle Henry

Our hearts are broken. We are mourning over the death of Michelle Henry, a beloved and dear client of TransThrive. We are holding our community close, and we are grieving with you. Michelle was vibrant, loved music, and was full of brilliant ideas and creativity. She generously shared her talents with everyone. We will deeply miss her warm smile, sweetness, kindness, and charm.

Michelle should still be alive today. The rise of anti-trans policies and sentiment result in increased violence and harm towards trans people. Our most vulnerable members are frequently the victims of the worst manifestations of racism, transphobia, and structural violence. We are in pain and afraid. Our trans communities deserve safety, healing, and an opportunity to thrive. We believe that none of us are safe until we are all safe. Our services center those in our communities that are the most impacted by the nexus of oppressions and whose experiences are most often made invisible or erased. We see you. For anyone in the trans community who need support, are looking for community or seeking belonging, we are here for you.

  • TransThrive – TransThrive is our community center. We offer drop-in programming and support groups.

  • Taimon Booton Navigation Center – Taimon Booton Navigation Center is our emergency shelter. We provide beds, food, and safety for our trans/GNC community.

  • Wellness Clinic – We believe in providing respectful, culturally humbling, and gender affirming care.

  • Mental and Behavioral Health – Our mental and behavioral health services are gender affirming. We provide counseling, couples counseling, substance use counseling, and therapy.

  • Case Management – We offer case management and peer navigation for individualized, tailored support.

Help fund Michelle’s service: “This "GoFundMe" is to be a contribution in her honor and I can tell you ALL funds will be either donated OR used in the creating a function/foundation in her honor.”
