645 Larkin Street

San Francisco Community Health Center purchased the building on 645 Larkin Street in 2023. This is the first building that we own, and we could not be more proud and excited. We are in continued dialogue to involve, engage, and collaborate on the design of our space with neighbors and businesses in the Tenderloin neighborhood. We believe that our work is a step in achieving shared goals within the community for both residents and businesses. We value transparency and are committed to providing regular updates on our process.

PROGRAMS AT 645 LARKIN STREET

We will soon be housing our API programs in the building focused on health education, safety/wellness, and addressing anti-Asian hate. Learn more about each below.

PARTICIPATORY PLANNING PROCESS

We continue to be committed to collaboration by involving local business, residents, and service providers in on-going dialogue regarding 645 Larkin Street. Currently, all plans related to relocating the Community Living Room’s community drop-in services to 645 Larkin Street has been placed on indefinite pause.

COMMUNITY MEETINGS

We hope to solicit feedback by meeting with various stakeholders, attending neighborhood meetings, hosting community meetings, and engaging directly with those who are impacted most by the complex issues surrounding homelessness and substance use in the Tenderloin.

DIRECT STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT

We plan to gather direct feedback from businesses and residents, particularly those in the Larkin corridor, to provide space for honest conversation and areas for collaboration between businesses, residents, and providers.

IMPROVEMENTS TO SERVICES

We are grateful to share a space with incredible providers at our 730 Polk Street location. We are committed to doing all that we can to improve guest flow into the Community Living Room on the 4th floor. We are currently piloting changes to intake and access to services.
